What is a Behavior Technician?

A Behavior Technician, also known as an RBT or ABA Therapist, works one-on-one with children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) to build skills in communication, socialization, and self-help. At KGH Autism Services in Madison, WI, you’ll work in a top-notch environment with guidance from a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and receive paid RBT training to start your career.

How will you help children with Autism?

As an ABA Therapist / Behavior Technician at KGH Autism Services, you will provide 1:1 ABA therapy in various settings such as in the home, school, center, or community. Using research-based methods you will:

  • Teach individuals with autism to talk, play, make friends, and function independently, while helping reduce any inappropriate behaviors and improve mental health.
  • Collect data to demonstrate each client’s progress toward reaching his or her goals!
  • Analyze data by using our proprietary electronic data collection software for real time decision-making.
  • Collaborate with BCBAs, the client’s family, and other technicians at clinical team meetings to report client progress and get specific feedback from the supervisor.

ABA Therapist / Behavior Technician Qualifications

  • You must be at least 18 years of age
  • You must be authorized to work in the United States  
  • You must meet the physical requirements of the position, to include lifting of clients, packages, or equipment up to 50lbs, accessing non-barrier free premises, and using physical management techniques when required 

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education or related field
  • Certificate in First Aid and CPR Training
  • Autism Spectrum Disorders experience

Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Psychology Postdoctoral Fellow to conduct comprehensive diagnostic evaluations of children and adolescents suspected of having autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or other childhood behavioral and mental health conditions. This role involves providing individual, family, and group therapy to children and adolescents diagnosed with ASD and their families. The Fellow will collaborate with the Chief Clinical Officer to develop an individualized training plan that aligns with their professional goals. Opportunities for clinical supervision of practicum students and participation in research may also be available.

Essential Functions:

  • Conduct psychological assessments and diagnostic evaluations.
  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy to children and adolescents diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
