What Will You Do at KGH?

The Managing Psychologist provides oversight for KGH’s mental health services by ensuring best practice services to children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and related disorders by using evidence-based treatment.  The Managing Psychologist is responsible for supervising Licensed Mental Health Clinicians, pre-doctoral interns, and post-doctoral fellow by conducting on-going training and supervision to ensure effective and successful service delivery in compliance with regulatory board standards.

The Managing Psychologist is also responsible for conducting diagnostic evaluations of children and adolescents suspected of having a developmental disability or other childhood behavioral/mental health conditions. The Managing Psychologist provides individual, family, and group therapy to children and adolescents diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.  Additionally, the Psychologist is responsible for conducting psychological testing for clients receiving ABA services on an as needed basis to assess treatment.  This full-time position reports to the Chief Operating Officer.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Conducts psychological assessments and diagnostic evaluations and re-evaluations.

  • Provides individual, group, and family therapy to children and adolescents diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

  • Function as a behavioral consultant to children, adolescents, and their families who do not have ABA as a covered benefit with their insurance.

  • Consults with our multi-disciplinary team and participates in clinical team meetings as requested.

  • Actively participates in peer review and supervision.

  • Provides clinical and administrative supervision to Master’s level mental health clinicians (e.g., LCSW, LPC, LMFT)

  • Supervises pre-doctoral psychology interns and post-doctoral psychology fellows.

  • Appropriately maintains client records (e.g., develop and maintain treatment plans, complete timely progress notes, etc.

What Does KGH Need from You?


Education and Certification:

  • Licensed (or license-eligible) Psychologist in the State of Illinois

  •  Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) required

  • BCBA or BCBA-D preferred


  • Minimum of three years’ experience as a licensed psychologist

  • Previous experience with children and adolescents in an outpatient setting

  • Experience working with Autism Spectrum Disorder and related disorders highly preferred

  • Behavioral and/or Cognitive/Behavioral theoretical orientation required

  • Training and experience in Acceptance Commitment Treatment (ACT) preferred

  • Previous teletherapy experience preferred
